Tuesday just received super exciting on account of the relieve of the earliest official trailer for?Captain Marvel. Brie Larson is really a superhero! Brie Larson?serves?Top Gun realness like a fighter pilot! Brie Larson punches a pleasant little old lady with a backlash! What more will you look for? In case your response to that question is “Um, why not consider Captain Marvel’s cat?” then don’t be concerned because Marvel’s got on your own that front, too.
In accent the very first trailer, Marvel also released a shiny new poster for?Captain Marvel, starring Brie Larson since the eponymous interstellar (and really stellar TBH) superhero. Here it is again, when you missed it:
She just looks so damn cool. OK but let’s turn our care about the bottom left corner of the gates – precisely what is that shadow? Some eagle-eyed?Twitter users spotted it too, also it didn’t take long for some of those to execute a little digital investigating:
Oh hey, that is the cat butt. Those people brand new to Carol Danvers’ comic persona are in all likelihood confused – almost like anyone needs a reason helping put a cat for a poster. After all. But fans of?Captain Marvel comics know what this mysterious cat butt means: It’s Chewie! No, not Chewbacca the Wookiee (although that has to be a really intriguing, notable and somewhat feasible crossover). It’s Chewie, Carol Danvers’ pet cat:
Chewie isn’t your average house cat. He’s actually an alien at a species often called “Flerken,” and like his superhero BFF, he has some pretty awesome powers. First off, he’s efficient at understanding human conversations (to get fair, I feel my cat might also do this, although I’ve got no real evidence). But Chewie’s mouth – yes, his mouth – is when things come on weird: He’s a nest of tentacles that happen to be housed in his Fancy Feast-bucket, these all come loaded with fanged, hungry mouths that belongs to them and is engaged for defensive purposes. Chewie also offers pocket dimensions as part of his cute little mouse trap, where he keeps entire?universes in addition to various necessities like aforementioned tentacles and balls of yarn, or whatever.
And somewhere amid all the tentacles with this inter-dimensional storage unit he calls a mouth would be the capacity to travel through space and time. My cat can achieve none of them things, but she is a highly-skilled napper, so there’s that.
Rocket Raccoon was the primary Marvel comics character to obtain that Chewie was more than a cat when Carol’s furry companion laid EGGS. While Chewie only appears to the new poster for that movie, there is a chance he could make an appearance in?Captain Marvel based on this pic posted by Samuel L. Jackson (via /Film):
